About Dr Pretorius
Dr Lourens Pretorius qualified as a dentist from the University of Pretoria in 1981. During his National Service, he completed an Honours degree in Orthodontics with distinction, followed by an MChD (Orthodontics), awarded cum laude, also from the University of Pretoria.
In 1990, Dr Pretorius established his orthodontic practice in Roodepoort, which has since developed into a well-established practice recognised for its high clinical standards and commitment to excellence.
Dr Pretorius maintains a strong academic interest and has contributed to postgraduate training in orthognathic surgical procedures. He lectures both locally and internationally, with particular focus on lingual orthodontics and orthognathic surgery.
He regularly attends international seminars and congresses to remain at the forefront of advancements in orthodontics, ensuring his patients benefit from modern, evidence-based treatment approaches.
Dr Pretorius is a member of several professional organisations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, South African Society of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists, South African Dental Association, and the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
